So it took me a real piece of proof before I would believe this was true. Tania pointed me in the direction of his Facebook page where I read the proof.
“It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences.”
I did sit and cry. Some may not understand this but as I told my sister this is my ‘Elvis’. Not that I think I will see him at a stop light or in the mall or where ever Elvis is being seen but someone who I never thought wouldn’t be here. I have seen him in pretty much everything he has ever done. ..
First thing I ever seen him in I had no clue who he even was, Who’s the Boss?, then I seen Meet the Deedles, Pleasantville, Varsity Blues, She’s All That, Brokedown Palace, The Skulls, and then came The Fast and The Furious. This is when I said “WOW! This is Phil, Skip, Lance, Dean, Jason, Caleb! This Brian O’Conner is a hot man.” Okay maybe not in those words but close enough. Then came Joyride it made everyone think twice about playing on a CB radio. Next was hotness in Miami in 2 Fast 2 Furious and more hotness with Timeline, Noel, In to the Blue, Running Scared, Eight Below, The Lazarus Project, Fast & Furious, Takers, Fast Five, Vehicle 19, Fast & Furious 6 and Pawn Shop Chronicles.
These are just the things that I have seen him in. On December 13, Hours is set to come out. This is a movie I will be seeing as well. Brick Mansions has been wrapped. Then there is the Fast & Furious 7…still filming.
I know I have basically went over his acting history. This is a hard thing for me to write because it still seems like it has too much irony in his death. Paul was attending a car show function for his charity Reach Out Worldwide called “Winter Drive” where they were collecting toys for kids for Christmas. While leaving the even in a red Porsche, as the passenger, the met in a fatal accident. I am unsure as to whom the driver was but as far as I can tell it was not his daughter Meadow, whom recently came to live with him.
I know that many many people are saddened by this loss and the tragedy of any fatal accident hurts someone. I read a quote online from Paul Walker
Surfing soothes me, it’s always been a kind of zen experience for me. The ocean is so magnificent, peaceful, and awesome. The rest of the world disappears for me when I’m on a wave.
I hope that Paul is going to be able to surf as he chooses in heaven, look down upon his daughter and be proud, and know that he left this earth with people, like me, who may have never met him but chose to feel as though he was truly a good, genuine, humble man who managed to live in a spotlight and still be someone who they could feel like they could sit down with and have a drink and laugh at each others stories. This was how I seen him and I will remember that he spent his last hours helping others.
